A SEASON OF STILLNESS AND GRATITUDE

Thanksgiving is still a new holiday for me. Where I come from, in Slovakia, we don’t celebrate it - so every year, it feels like learning a new ritual. A quiet pause in October that invites reflection, warmth, and gratitude.

Over time, it’s also become part of what makes me feel at home here in Canada. It marks not only the change in season, but the feeling of belonging - of creating new traditions while carrying a few old ones with me. In a way, it mirrors what I love about design: blending what’s familiar with what’s new to create something that feels deeply personal and grounding.

That’s what a well-designed home does - it holds both past and present. It anchors us when life feels uncertain and reminds us of what matters: light, comfort, connection, and care. When a space is created with intention, it doesn’t just look beautiful; it quietly supports us, helps us slow down, and makes room for gratitude.

And maybe that’s what I’m most thankful for - the spaces, people, and moments that bring calm to the noise. For my husband, whose quiet steadiness feels like home. For family and friends, near and far, whose presence makes life feel fuller and lighter all at once. For clients who invite me to help shape the places where their lives unfold. For the chance to keep building something meaningful - one thoughtful detail at a time.

Home, after all, isn’t just where we live. It’s where we return to ourselves.

Happy Thanksgiving. 🍂
